CDL Driver

Title: CDL DRIVER

Department: Crew

Reports to: Owner & Crew Leader

 

Job Objective

Working to be part of a functional tree service team.

 

Responsibilities

  • Driving loads to and from job locations
  • Driving loads to drop off sites, turn in drop off tickets to office day of delivery
  • Assisting pruning and removing trees on residential and commercial properties
  • Assisting climbers
  • Assisting in site cleanup after tree care operations
  • Chain saw use and safety
  • General work site safety
  • Proper equipment use and maintenance
  • Vehicle safety, safe operation, and safe driving
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

 

Relationships and Roles

  • Work week is 5 days, Monday to Friday, starting at 8AM.
  • Saturdays when needed, must be on call for emergencies. Must have working cell phone.
  • Entitled to 30 minutes of lunch, off clock.
  • May be asked to help in task not listed in responsibilities.

 

Job Specifications 

  • Two to five years of Arborist or Forestry experience is required
  • Must have valid CDL license
  • Must have working cell phone to be able to maintain contact with office and owner at all times
  • Punctual, meticulous and reliable
  • Courteous manners with the public and other staff
  • Must be comfortable with the use of hand tools and powered tools or equipment
  • Must have an understanding of work orders and plans
  • Ability to work outdoors, handling steady physical work activity as a member of a tree care team
  • Must exhibit strong communication skills

Climber

Title: Climber

Department: Crew

Job Objective

Working to be part of a functional tree service team.

 

Responsibilities

  • Tree maintenance, pruning and removals on residential and commercial properties using ropes, harness, saddle, and/ or bucket truck.
  • Site cleanup after tree care operations
  • Chain saw use and safety
  • General work site safety
  • Proper equipment use and maintenance
  • Vehicle safety, safe operation, and safe driving
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs & physically fit

Relationships and Roles

 

  • Work week is 5 days, Monday to Friday, starting at 8AM.

  • At least 3 years Arborist or Forestry experience as a climber

  • Must have driver’s license, CDL license is beneficial
  • Must be comfortable with the use of hand tools and powered tools or equipment
  • Must have an understanding of work orders and plans

Foreman - Crew Leader

Job Objective

Working to manage a functional tree service team.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the crew and speak with customers if necessary
  • Assisting in pruning and removing trees on residential and commercial properties
  • Assisting climbers
  • Manage site cleanup after tree care operations
  • Chain saw use and safety
  • General work site safety

  • Responsible for managing the loading and unloading of equipment properly

Title: Groundskeeper

Job Objective

Working to maintain business property and equipment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and clean vehicles and equipment.
  • Keep property orderly, organized, and clean.
  • Maintain and mow grass areas (around office and in front of entrance)
  • Maintain firewood business (splitting, stacking, selling, and loading)
  • Run company errands as deemed necessary
  • Assist tree crews when needed
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Work week is 5 days, Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day, starting at 7:30 AM to 4PM.

Job Objective

Organize and supervise all of the administrative activities that facilitate the smooth running of the office. Carries out a range of administrative and IT related tasks.

The Office Manager is responsible for data entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, maintaining the HR documents, helping and creating organizational and program budgets.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Using a range of office software, including email, spreadsheets and databases; managing filing system
  • Developing and implementing new administrative system; such as record management
  • Oversee overall financial management, planning, systems, and controls
  • Recording office expenditure and managing the budget
  • Disbursement of checks for office expenses

Sales Associate

Title: Sales Associate

Job Objective

Responsible for all sales activities, from lead generation through close in an assigned territory. Develops and implements agreed upon Marketing Plan which will meet both personal and business goals of expanding customer base in the marketing area. Works within the sales and support teams for the achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term account goals in line with company vision and values.

 

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates technical selling skills and product knowledge in all areas of the tree service to give effective presentation.
  • Develops annual business plan in conjunction with Owner & Office Manager, which details activities to follow during the fiscal year, which will focus the Sales Associate on meeting or exceeding sales quota.
  • Complete understanding of pricing and proposal models.
  • Demonstrates the ability to carry on a business conversation with business owners and decision makers.
  • Maximizes all opportunities in the process of closing a sale resulting in the taking of market share from larger competitors.
  • Sells consultatively and makes recommendations to prospects and clients of the various solutions the company offers to their business issues.
  • Develops a database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, face to face cold calling on businesses, consumers, direct mail, email, and networking.
  • Assists in the implementation of company marketing plans as needed.
  • Creates and conducts effective proposal presentations and RFP responses.
  • Responsible for sourcing and developing client relationships and referrals.
  • Maintains accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities within their assigned territory to turn in at weekly .
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
